EDUSPOT is the only product in the world capable of recording the writing on chalkboards/white boards of ANY SIZE with perfect clarity while recording classroom lectures. The writing can be as small as necessary while depicting items like symbols, subscripts, superscripts, exponents, elements of matrices, command prompts etc. and will still be rendered with magnification and perfect focus enabling them to be seen without any strain in the recording.
Our automated camera movement can be ported to a video-conferencing session as well, enabling a BB/WB of ANY size to be used even in a VC session. A recording of such a session is as below:
EDUSPOT software automatically compresses each recording to achieve about 220 MB per hour of recording for economic online hosting while maintaining good quality. Bandwidth requirement per stream is reduced to 350 kb/s. The resolution is reduced to 640×480 while still maintaining excellent quality.
When the teacher writes on the right, the camera moves to the right and zooms in. When the teacher writes to the left, the camera moves to the left and zooms in.
This is a slide-based recording. In the beginning, the camera zooms to RIGHT of the teacher since he is using his RIGHT hand to point to the words on the slide.
At 6:03, we requested him to move to the RIGHT of the slides and point to the writing with his LEFT hand. Now the camera moves to the LEFT and zooms in, as it should. This is as a result of our intelligent tracking algorithm.
It is worthwhile noting that the entire movie industry employs OFFLINE recording. There
is no such thing as a live recorded movie. This is because OFFLINE recordings can be edited to remove imperfections, and the quality improved before being presented to its audience. Though it is easy to avoid editing in offline recording of lectures with EDUSPOT, significant improvement can be achieved by eliminating student noise, ability to test audio level before every recording and rerecording of lectures with significant audio problems and more relaxed recording due to the absence of a live audience – all of which are not possible with live recording. HOWEVER, EDUSPOT will work perfectly for LIVE recording as well.
We just did a presentation for a very tech-savvy institution in Hyderabad which have
implemented IWB in all their classrooms.
They said EDUSPOT is useful for enhancing their implementation with features that
IWB does not offer.
The cost per classroom for the hardware is about Rs. 2.5L per classroom. We are flexible on software pricing.
Automatic closed caption capability is offered for all the recordings done with EDUSPOT as an option.
